Family:  Poeciliidae (Poeciliids), subfamily: Aplocheilichthyinae
Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; pH range: 6.5 - 7.19999980926514, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Chad, Cameroon and Central African Republic (Ref. 3788), and Benin and Togo (Ref. 27139). Also known from the White Nile in Sudan (Ref. 7372).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-6; Anal soft rays: 9-11. 25-26 scales in longitudinal series (Ref. 28714).
Biology:  Occurs in small rivers, swamps, and brooks (Ref. 7372). Not a seasonal killifish. Is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139).
